Welcome to our brigade website!

The Wamboin Rural Fire Brigade is a volunteer organisation that services the Wamboin, Bywong and Sutton Park communities

The plan for training on Saturday 10 February 2018 is to practice a rapid response to property protection. The scenario is that a fire coming from the north-west is threatening the Wamboin/Bywong area. Brigade tankers and crews will be assigned to protect properties in the area. The training exercise will involve brigade tankers firstly acting as a team to locate an assigned property and set up a defensive position, including identifying and establishing water refilling points. Once the defensive position has been established the next tasks will be for the individual tankers to quickly make up and proceed on their own to another property and repeat the exercise but this time on their own.

A key to the success of the training is having a number of properties to practice on/in.

If you (as a Brigade member) would like to nominate your property to be part of the exercise please let me know before 6 February 2018. As well as helping us hone our collective skills you and your property will also benefit. You will be able to identify any possible shortcomings in how well your property is set up from a fire protection point of view and it will also help members of the Brigade to become familiar with what it might take to protect it.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
